Everyone needs help at some time – especially during a global pandemic!
People are hardwired to want to do things on their own and be independent-minded. Asking for help often makes people feel uneasy and even at times, vulnerable. Another fear that people may hold is being perceived as needy.
This concept has really been amplified this year during the COVID-19 crisis, many people feel that others have their own worries to take care of, therefore their personal struggles are not as significant.
At Cystic Fibrosis Queensland, we aim to be equitable and distribute our grants and subsidies to as many eligible people as we can. To help us do this, many of our programs have set limits per annum or are a one-off support, such as a trampoline for a child. With limited funding it is important that we distribute in an accountable manner.
We are the peak not for profit charity advocating and delivering support and service programs directly to the cystic fibrosis community. We support anyone who relies on Queensland Health for cystic fibrosis clinical support. As part of a federated, national team, if Cystic Fibrosis Queensland is not the right chapter for you, we can easily connect you with our counterpart in another State or Territory.
So, are you that person who is always missing out? Are you that person who always thinks that “Someone needs this more than me”?
