A Cystic Fibrosis Life focuses on discussing the myriad of challenges facing a person living with cystic fibrosis. You will hear from individuals in our community that have learnt to manage their chronic illness and provide input and advice on coping with the condition. Our podcast will cover a range of topics, intended to spread awareness, discuss the difficulties around living with the genetic malfunction and how it can be better managed, as well as inform people about carrier screening and raise general awareness of the plight facing sufferers.
Life is Not Limited- Kate’s Inspiring Story
Join us as we speak with guest speaker, Kate Rootsey and listen as she shares her cystic fibrosis Story. Kate has inspired us all, after getting a second chance in life in 2007 her perceptive of her condition changed significantly. Kate was the first women to have a double lung transplant then give birth. Kate has also gone on to participate In the Australian Transplant Games and represented the cystic fibrosis community as a torch bearer in the Commonwealth Games held at the Gold Coast. This year, Kate’s spirit and passion for advocacy for people living with cystic fibrosis was acknowledged at the Cystic Fibrosis Queensland Diamond Jubilee event when Kate was awarded Cystic Fibrosis Warrior.
