Now more than ever, charities need your support. Many charities, like Cystic Fibrosis Queensland, do not receive designated government funding and the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted our ability to raise funds through events.
As a donor, it is often challenging to understand how your donation will have the impact that you expect. At Cystic Fibrosis Queensland our donor centric model allows our supporters to fund the program which resonates the most. And even during tough fundraising times like now, we have not wavered from this pledge.
Donors can even decide if they would like to fund a program for all our members or a program specifically for members who live in their community.
There are many ways donors can support Cystic Fibrosis Queensland. Donors can make a one-off payment through our annual appeals, attend a fundraising event, share our social media and spread the work about our achievements, become a workplace or private regular give , volunteer their time and skills or include us in their will or at their memorial service.
One thing that we can guarantee is that we have our own in-house capacity to collect, process and receipt your donation. This means that all money donated comes directly to Cystic Fibrosis Queensland as we do not use third-party fundraising providers.
Not all not-for-profits are charities but all charities are not-for-profit. Cystic Fibrosis Queensland has deductible gift recipient status which means that all donations to our charity are fully tax deductible. While this may not influence a donors’ decision to donate to our cause today, it is an appreciated benefit by our donors at taxation time. All donations over $2.00 qualify as deductible gifts. There are over 600 000 not-for-profit organisations in Australia. Of these about 60 000 are registered charities and only half of these are classified as deductible gift recipients.
A donation is not always monetary or even volunteering – it can at times be product or items. Cystic Fibrosis Queensland warmly welcome all donations as we can gift items to our members, raffle or sell to raise much needed funds.
